Ordos receives flood of tourists during New Year's Day holiday

Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region received 349,000 tourists during the three-day New Year’s Day holiday despite the lingering impact of the novel coronavirus outbreak. A total of 90,000 tourists stayed overnight in the city.
Tourism revenue generated during the holiday totaled 93.38 million yuan ($14.01 million).
Ordos had launched a series of activities to lure visitors, including local cultural experiences and scenic sightseeing tours.
The first Juungar Yellow River Grand Canyon Ice and Snow Festival debuted in the city's Junngar Banner.

Tourists have the opportunity to admire the ice and snow-covered scenery along the Yellow River from the window of a hovercraft.
Entertainment activities such as dragon boats, bumper cars and bicycles on ice provided tourists with thrilling experiences.
Meanwhile, the second Colorful Dalad Banner Yellow River Bay Ice and Snow Carnival offered tourists a chance to sample local culture and customs.
