The Juungar Economic Development Zone, located in Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has achieved remarkable results in the green development of its industry and in the establishment of an efficient, clean, low-carbon and circular green manufacturing ecosystem. 

Recently, a waste resource reutilization plant, funded and developed by Juungar Banner Lanchuang Environmental Protection Trade Co in the development zone, was to start trial production.

The plant will get solid waste from the nearby calcium carbide plants in the development zone, process and transform it into products such as calcium hydroxide, white ash and coke powder mud, and sell the byproducts locally. 

"Obtaining raw materials and processing them in the development zone avoid pollution during transportation and storage," said project head Yang Xinhua. 

"Local transformation and marketing have further promoted the circular development of the calcium carbide industry chain in the zone," Yang added. 

In fact, there are other similar eco-friendly recycling operations in the Juungar Economic Development Zone. 

A number of solid waste utilization companies buy industrial solid waste in the zone and produce various products exclusively for coal chemicals companies after on-site processing.

In recent years, the development zone has reduced its resources and energy consumption in the production process and realized resource reutilization by adopting advanced clean production technology, water saving, energy saving and comprehensive waste utilization methods.

Meanwhile, it has established a circular economy industrial ecosystem, produced high value-added end products, and processed and recycled wastewater, gas and residues, so as to improve the efficiency of the resource utilization in industry and reduce its environmental impact. 

As a result, an eco-friendly recycling industrial system has taken shape in the zone.
