The launch of an expert workstation for pilot models of oasis fisheries in inland saline-alkali waters recently took place in Duguitala town in Hanggin Banner in Ordos, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
The project is reportedly part of the Blue Granary Technology Innovation Project, a national-level key development plan.
The project targets solving the main problems being faced by the development of oasis fisheries in inland saline-alkali waters.
It will aim to integrate common key technologies, so as to establish a diversified aquaculture model in saline-alkali waters. Various applications demonstrations will take place in Northeast China, Northwest China, North China and East China regions.
The goal is to achieve environmental management and coordinated development of oasis fisheries in saline-alkali waters.
As the pilot site of the project, it is understood that Hanggin Banner will further build models, which will optimize the aquaculture structures and improve pond facilities to generate economic benefits.
