A groundbreaking ceremony for a high-end photovoltaic manufacturing base project jointly invested by SPIC Nei Mongol Energy Co and Jolywood Co was held in Dongsheng district in the city of Ordos on Sept 11.

The 2GW high-efficiency N-type photovoltaic module manufacturing base is located in Dongsheng district’s equipment manufacturing industrial park and has received a total of 400 million yuan ($60.02 million) in investment.

The manufacturing base makes use of the existing 26,000 square meters of factory buildings in the park to build a 2GW N-type TOPCon Niwa-series single-crystal double-sided high-efficiency module production plant.

It uses advanced automated 4.0 module production lines, and consists of an N-type battery and module R&D center.

The project aims to promote the upgrading of Ordos’ photovoltaic industry and drive technological progress.

The main production equipment for the project has already arrived at the factory and should be installed in September, debugged in October, and begin production in November.

It is expected to generate 3.9 billion yuan in revenue, and profits and tax of about 210 million yuan, when operating at full capacity.
