Ordos boxer Li Qian finished first in the women's 75-kg boxing finals at the 14th National Games on Sept 19 to win the gold medal.

The games are being held in Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Sept 15-27.

After four fierce battles, Li showed her strength with four 5:0 matches, defeating players from Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Hubei, Henan and Heilongjiang provinces, and finally won the championship.

It was the fifth gold medal won by the Inner Mongolia team at the 14th National Games.

Li was born in Central China's Henan province on June 6, 1990, and relocated to the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region at an early age.

Li was once a basketball player. In 2007, she was discovered by a coach and recruited onto the Inner Mongolia boxing team.

Due to her rigorous daily training regimen and natural talent, Li has won many national championships and has repeatedly performed impressively in international competitions.

In the eighth Women's World Boxing Championships in 2014, Li represented the country for the first time and won second place. In Rio in 2016, Li saw her Olympic debut, reaching the semi-finals and winning bronze.

In 2017, Li won the Asian Women's Boxing Championships, and in 2018, she won the 75-kg championship at the 10th Women's World Boxing Championships.

On Aug 8 this year, Li won silver in the women's 75-kg boxing finals at the Tokyo Olympics.
