The city of Ordos – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – was recently granted the honorary title of "Safe China Construction Demonstration City".

It was the third consecutive year for Ordos to obtain the honor and the first time for the city to win the Chang'an Cup, the highest honor in constructing a safe China.

The recognition was announced at an awards ceremony held in China's capital, Beijing, on Dec 15.

A total of 60 "Safe China Construction Demonstration Cities" were awarded at the ceremony, while 73 cities and counties were awarded the "Chang'an Cup". 

Ordos is the only prefecture-level city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region that has been selected as a "Safe China Construction Demonstration City" and has won the "Chang'an Cup". 

The two awards are seen as being the highest praise for Ordos's safe political environment, stable social environment, fair legal environment and its high-quality service environment.
