First unmanned electric mining vehicle produced in Ordos

The first pure electric unmanned mining vehicle put together in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region officially rolled off the production line on Jan 12.

The truck was produced by Inner Mongolia Tiechen Intelligence Equipment Co, based in the Juungar Economic Development Zone, which is located in Ordos city.

The unmanned mining vehicles can reportedly be used in mines to achieve precise and smooth automatic loading, transportation, parking, obstacle avoidance and other functions.

They are also equipped with an environmental perception system, a behavior control and positioning system and a high-precision map. They are said to be able to complete high-precision operations without human drivers in accordance with exacting mining schedules, achieving low-cost and high-efficiency production.

According to the manufacturer, the vehicles will mainly be sold to customers in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, in Northwest China's Shaanxi province and in North China's Shanxi province, as well as in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The company is also understood to be planning to successively launch other products including new energy tractors, dump trucks and excavators, to provide customers with a full range of intelligent and new energy vehicles.
