Members to the First Session of the Fifth Ordos Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference or CPPCC arrived in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Feb 9.

The CPPCC members, from all walks of life, were keen to attend the event that was scheduled to kick off on Feb 10.

The delegates are understood to have visited local areas, listened to people's views and discussed solutions to problems encountered over the past year. They will submit their proposals during the event, for Ordos' economic and social development.

One member, Wang Xiaojing, said he would submit proposals on building a national demonstration base for new energy industry development and an important source of green technology.

Wang said the construction of a demonstration pilot area for modern energy in Ordos was an important way to facilitate green development in the region. He hoped his proposal would contribute to the green development of the city.

Another member, Wu Yan, will appeal for Ordos to continue promoting the development of the digital economy in the city.
