The city of Ordos – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – was rated as a top city in terms of China's business system for government tenders and the public contract bidding process, becoming the only city in the region to make it onto a list of the best in the country.

The evaluations system is understood to have covered 18 first-level indicators.

Of these, the first-level indicator for bidding mainly measured the degree of difficulty for companies to enter the bidding market, the standardization of bidding and the completeness of the complaints mechanism.

It also evaluated work on the promotion of online bidding, procurement efficiency and transparency and innovation of bidding supervision systems and mechanisms.

In recent years, Ordos has been benchmarking national and autonomous regional business evaluation systems. Moreover, it has continued to promote the construction of an electronic platform for public resources tendering and transactions, to improve the quality and efficiency of bidding by competing contractors.

Meanwhile, the city has continued to innovate its public resources transaction services. It has moved to safeguard the rights and interests of business players in accordance with the law – as well as to stimulate market vitality and promote the online and intelligent supervision of public resources transactions.
