Ordos' GDP hits 255.01b yuan in H1

The city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region held a press conference on July 19 to explain its economic situation in the first half of 2022.

From January to June this year, Ordos' GDP reached 255.01 billion yuan ($38.26 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.0 percent.

The added value of the primary industry was 1.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 9.9 percent; the added value of the secondary industry was 172.75 billion yuan, an increase of 8.4 percent year-on-year; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 80.64 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.2 percent.

In the first half of the year, the added value of industries above designated size in the city increased by 9.1 percent year-on-year, 0.7 percentage points higher than the regional growth rate and 5.7 percentage points higher than the national growth rate.

The added value of the city's service industry increased by 3.2 percent year-on-year, while the added value of the transportation, warehousing and postal industries increased by 7.2 percent year-on-year.

In addition, the city's fixed asset investment grew rapidly, market consumption continued to pick up, and the incomes of urban and rural residents increased steadily.

In the first six months of this year, the city's fixed asset investment increased by 31.4 percent year-on-year, 25.3 percentage points higher than the national growth rate.

The city's total retail sales of consumer goods reached 27.2 billion yuan, 3.1 percentage points higher than the regional growth rate and 3.6 percentage points higher than the national growth rate.

The disposable income of all residents in the city was 23,665 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.0 percent and an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the first quarter.
