The first large-scale solar modules produced in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region successfully rolled off the production line in the Juungar Banner of Ordos on Aug 2, laying a solid foundation for the region's green transformation and high-quality development.

The project was established in the Juungar Economic Development Zone in November last year, with a total investment of 500 million yuan ($75.02 million). It will consist of 2GW of photovoltaic modules.

Construction on the project began in March and it took just 21 days to open up a fully automated production line.

It is expected to achieve an industrial output value of 3.6 billion yuan and generate 320 million yuan in tax revenue when operating at full capacity.

It will also employ around 400 people.
