The Hongqinhu 500 kV power transmission and transformation station in Hanggin Banner of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was successfully put into operation on Nov 27.
The station is among the first group of projects in service of the country's 1-trillion-kilowatt new energy transmission task. It is also the first ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission supporting project in Inner Mongolia Power Grid.
The operation of the station also marks the opening of the transmission channel of 800,000-kW power generated by clean energy in the banner.
The generated electricity in Hanggin Banner's wind power farms and photovoltaic power generation bases will be transmitted to Shandong Power Grid in East China's Shandong province for consumption through the UHV channel.
