Ordos signs deals worth 40.23b yuan in Shanghai

The city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region signed 25 cooperation project deals worth 40.23 billion yuan ($5.74 billion) in East China's Shanghai city on Dec 19.
This was reported at a business promotion activity held in Shanghai on the same day.
The event was themed around building a world-class energy industry, a world-class modern coal chemical industry, a world-class new energy industry, and a world-class cashmere industry. Creating a modern service industry and cultivating future emerging industries were also highlighted.
A total of 208 companies and nine universities and research institutes from the Yangtze River Delta and other regions participated in the event.
Exhibitions and the sale of famous and special agricultural products from Ordos were held. Cultural and creative products and advanced industrial products from Ordos were also on display.
On the same day, a special investment promotion conference was held for the 2023 Ordos Commercial Services and Modern Logistics Industry Chain. Nearly 100 commercial and logistics enterprises negotiated deals and reached framework agreements at this event.
In recent years, Ordos has focused on green development by forming an industrial chain for photovoltaic energy, hydrogen fuel cells and green hydrogen equipment manufacturing. It also improved the manufacturing process of new energy vehicles.
Ordos has established the first carbon-neutral research institute in Inner Mongolia, as well as established a number of high-level innovation platforms such as the Ordos Energy Research Institute of Peking University and the Inner Mongolia Research Institute of China University of Mining and Technology.
Plans to build a national sustainable development demonstration zone in Ordos were also approved.
