Ordos, Wuhai and Alshaa League in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region signed a coordinated development framework deal on Jan 16.

According to the agreement, these three places will jointly build a comprehensive demonstration zone for the new energy industry, a demonstration zone for new coal-based chemicals and new materials, a demonstration zone for the ecological protection of the Yellow River, a demonstration zone for regional infrastructure integration, and a demonstration zone for global tourism and ecotourism.

They will also establish seven coordinated development mechanisms involving investment promotion cooperation, high-level cooperation, regular consultation, multi-level cooperation, and project implementation.

The Ordos, Wuhai and Alshaa Leagues are involved in the large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases and the energy and chemical industry clusters that were planned by the central government.

They are also important node cities for the national strategy for the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, and are important locations for Inner Mongolia's plan to construct an ecological security barrier in the country’s northernmost area.
