Ordos' R&D investment hits new high in 2022

In 2022, the scientific and technological development level of Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region showed a tremendous upward trend, and the R&D investment of enterprises above designated size hit a new high.
Last year, the number of R&D enterprises above designated size in Ordos reached 239, accounting for 29.8 percent of the city's total number of industrial and service enterprises above designated size.
During the same period, the R&D expenses of enterprises above designated size in Ordos reached 7.91 billion yuan ($1.18 billion), an increase of 1.99 billion yuan or 33.6 percent year-on-year.
Among them, R&D expenses for industrial enterprises above designated size were 7.72 billion yuan, an increase of 34.6 percent year-on-year.
It accounted for 32.4 percent of the total R&D expenses of Inner Mongolia, and contributed 31.3 percent to the growth of the R&D expenses for industrial enterprises above designated size in the region.
Both the total R&D expense and the contribution rate of Ordos ranked first among all the leagues and cities in the region.
In addition, the proportion of R&D expenses in Ordos' operating income increased from 0.83 percent in 2021 to 0.97 percent in 2022, an increase of 0.13 percentage points year-on-year which is 0.12 percentage points higher than the average level of the region.
It reached the highest value in history.
