Ordos boxers win medals at 2023 IBA Women's Boxing World Championships

Two Chinese boxers, Yang Liu and Li Qian, won medals at the 2023 IBA Women's Boxing World Championships, held at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in Delhi, India.

Competing in the elite women's 63-66kg welterweight category, Yang Liu, coached by Xu Feng from the Ordos Sports Vocational Middle School, beat her Thai competitor with a 5-0 verdict and won the gold medal.

It is reported that Yang Liu won the Inner Mongolia boxing team's fourth world championship, following in the footsteps of teammates: Yang Xiaoli, Li Qian and Dou Dan.

Additionally, in the semi-finals of the 70-75 kg class, boxer Li Qian from Ordos city eventually lost her match 1:4, resulting in a tie for the bronze medal.
