Ordos new energy experimental center fills industry gap

The first new energy experimental center in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was officially put into operation on May 23.

The center is located in the region's Ordos city and was invested in and constructed by the Ordos State-owned Assets Investment Group in June 2022.

The start of the center's operation fills the gap in the region's new energy testing and measurement industry.

A power battery laboratory, which is the first phase of the center project, currently has 212 channels of domestic and imported cell testing equipment and 50 high-low temperature environmental chambers.

This laboratory also has advanced experimental equipment, such as a plasma material analysis spectrometer and a scanning electron microscope. It has professional battery testing capabilities such as high and low-temperature performance testing, charging and discharging testing, and cycle life testing under standard and different operating conditions.

Additionally, the center has also built a 1 MW rooftop distributed photovoltaic project, whose generated power is fully used for the operation of the laboratory, achieving zero-carbon experiments.

The center is dedicated to serving the new energy industry, focusing on new energy power battery testing. It is actively building a new energy system integrating certification, verification, testing, measurement, and standards.

The new energy experimental center has established cooperative relationships with well-known domestic universities and leading research institutions, further enhancing the center's capabilities.

The center will build a national-level new energy equipment experimental base that integrates wind power, photovoltaics, hydrogen energy storage, new energy vehicle charging and swapping, smart connectivity, and new energy vehicle testing.
