Contracts worth 3 billion yuan ($427.96 million) were signed at a symposium on the construction of a "rural vitalization model area" in Otog Front Banner of Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 18.
The deals involve building facilities for various agricultural projects, developing integrated upstream and downstream industrial chains, and cooperating on agricultural, cultural, and tourism projects.
Meanwhile, 11 experts from think tanks were appointed as advisers for the banner's future development.

Throughout the event, industry experts delivered keynote speeches on the development model of agriculture and animal husbandry, digital and intelligent cattle and sheep industries, and comprehensive rural vitalization in Otog Front Banner. They jointly explored new ideas and models for the vitalization and development of the banner.
Afterwards, the experts and scholars visited a tasting area to sample and evaluate the mutton produced in the banner. Traditional dishes such as roasted whole lamb and hand-pulled meat received unanimous praise.
