The Ordos Ejin Horoo International Airport in the city of Ordos saw a total passenger throughput of 2.53 million in 2023, along with a cargo and mail throughput of 11,905.2 metric tons.

It also operated a total of 79 routes, connecting a remarkable 66 cities.

Throughout this year, it efficiently linked local general aviation airports with domestic hub airports, introducing 61 trunk and branch transit routes. This not only made transfers more convenient, but also met the travel needs of remote areas.

By opening up 30 branch destinations such as Turpan, Yueyang, Shiyan, Jinggangshan, and Boao and optimizing 36 trunk routes to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, a total of 854 transit routes were introduced.

This ensured the smooth transit of passengers traveling from Northeast China to Hainan, Beijing to Xinjiang, Shandong to Northwest China, North China to Southwest China, and Northwest China to East China, resulting in a transit passenger throughput exceeding 120,000.

Furthermore, to support the commercial operation of domestically-produced regional aircraft, the Ordos airport opened 11 routes for domestic aircraft, connecting destinations such as Shanghai, Tianjin and Chongqing. Approximately 160,000 passengers were served through these routes.
