In recent years, the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has continuously elevated the sense of happiness and well-being among its residents through the construction of a city characterized by "strength, vitality, greenery, and livability".

Ordos leads the nation in per capita GDP, and is rapidly advancing towards becoming a city with a GDP scale of more than 1 trillion yuan ($136.98 billion).

Simultaneously, as a crucial national energy base, Ordos ensures the energy needs of 25 provinces and municipalities across the country, including the Yangtze River Delta.

Meanwhile, Ordos has established a first-class business environment by launching an optimized business environment campaign. This campaign is designed to be the most considerate in terms of policy, the most efficient in terms of procedures, the most secure for investment, and the warmest in terms of services.

Also, Ordos boasts a picturesque environment with clear skies, lush greenery, and pristine waters, making it an ecologically pleasant and livable city.

With a forest coverage rate of 27.3 percent, the city has a vegetation coverage of over 70 percent on average, its urban green space coverage is at 41.3 percent, and its per capita park area is 32.7 square meters. Ordos stands out as a true "natural oxygen bar" and a summer retreat, with a good air quality rating of over 90 percent.

Moreover, more than half of Ordos' financial resources are annually allocated to improving people's livelihoods, pioneering a 12-year free education program, and offering free cervical cancer vaccinations for female residents aged 13 to 18, setting a national precedent.

Additionally, the city has added free non-invasive prenatal DNA screenings for genetic metabolic diseases and deafness gene screenings into its priority government welfare projects.

At the end of 2023, Ordos was honored as one of the 2023 Happiest Cities in China.
