A coal-based kaolin project in Hanggin Banner of Ordos city has recently obtained approval from the city's development and reform commission.

With a total investment of 150 million yuan ($20.55 million), the project plans to establish a new production line that is capable of processing 250,000 metric tons of coal-based kaolin annually.

Upon completion, the project will yield 180,000 tons of calcined kaolin (lump), 20,000 tons of coal-based kaolin raw material (large pieces), and 20,000 tons of coal-based kaolin raw material (small pieces) each year.

The construction of this project is conducive to driving the transformation and upgrading of the kaolin industry, thus it holds significant importance in improving the surrounding environment and restoring the ecological balance in mining areas.
