The "Earth Hour 2024" event is set to take place on March 23. This year, the main venue city in China is Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The main venue event will kick off with an international seminar on "Green, Low-carbon, and High-quality Development."

Nearly 100 government representatives, industry experts, and business delegates involved in the climate response and energy transition sectors will gather to discuss and share insights on topics such as "local practices in low-carbon development", "green transformation", and "climate innovation".

From 8 pm to 9 pm on March 23, Ordos will also host a unique "Earth Hour" event, featuring a lights-out ceremony.

Olympic champions and local youth will jointly deliver an ecological declaration, followed by a countdown where iconic buildings in Ordos will turn off their lights, contributing an hour to conserving the Earth.

During the event, light painting artist Wang Sibo will collaborate with the residents of Ordos to create light paintings at locations such as the Ordos Museum and the Ordos Grand Theater.
