The "Ordos City Integrated Operation Service Management Measures for Patrol and Online Hailing Taxis (Trial)" has been officially implemented, making Ordos the third pilot city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region to implement the "Integrated Patrol and Online Hailing" program, following the cities of Manzhouli and Wuhai.

According to the measures, Ordos will only allow traditional patrol taxis to operate on online hailing services, while private cars will no longer be permitted to do so. The transportation authority will oversee online hailing platforms and immediately suspend the registration of non-compliant vehicles.

Additionally, hailing a ride through online platforms will follow the designated routes and pricing agreed upon by the platform, while hailing a taxi on the street will still be metered.

Deputy director Wang Xiaorong of the Ordos Transportation Service Center explained, "Implementing the 'Integrated Patrol and Online Hailing' program in Ordos combines traditional patrol taxis with online platforms, allowing drivers to easily access passenger information, reducing idle and wait times. The platform also provides real-time traffic conditions, intelligent navigation, and other features to help drivers plan routes and alleviate passenger concerns about detours."

Ordos is currently home to 6,089 operating taxis, with 3,209 in the central urban area. The pilot program is expected to help reduce drivers' idle time by 25 percent to 27 percent per day and improve the operational efficiency of taxis.
