The countdown event for a week-long celebration of "China Tourism Day" was successfully held in the city Ordos on May 16.

May 19, 2024, marks the 14th China Tourism Day.

To promote high-quality development in the tourism industry, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has selected six cities nationwide – Chaozhou, Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Ningbo, Ordos, and Guiyang – to host a series of countdown activities centered around the themes of eating, accommodation, traveling, touring, shopping, and entertainment.

As one of the six relay cities for the countdown events, Ordos will organize over 100 supporting activities and introduce more than 30 culture and tourism preferential measures citywide during the week.

The measures include culture and tourism consumption vouchers, discounts on scenic spot tickets, and performance promotions.

Simultaneously, each banner and district within Ordos will host their own China Tourism Day series of activities. In Dongsheng district, Kangbashi district, and Ejin Horoo Banner, the theme will be highlighted through city lighting, building light shows, and outdoor screens.
