In a groundbreaking advancement for the logistics industry, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently welcomed its first fleet of unmanned delivery vehicles.

Five of the vehicles, operated by SF Express, embarked on their maiden journey in Dongsheng district of Ordos city, marking a significant leap towards intelligent and sustainable logistics.

These vehicles boast impressive capabilities. Each can carry up to 500 kilograms and has a maximum range of 100 kilometers.

On motorways, they can reach speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour. Equipped with an array of radars and twelve cameras strategically placed on top of and around the vehicle, they can accurately detect traffic lights, lane markings, and obstacles, ensuring safe and efficient navigation.

"The deployment of these five unmanned vehicles marks the first instance of unmanned delivery cars in Inner Mongolia. This innovation is set to enhance the daily efficiency of our delivery staff, reducing their travel distances and improving the time taken for pickup and delivery," explained Li Fei, manager of SF Express' Ordos branch.

Li added that the unmanned delivery vehicles significantly alleviate staffing pressure. Moving forward, his company plans to increase the number of these vehicles based on practical needs.
