Ordos culture wows crowds in Minsk, Belarus

An activity promoting cultural exchanges between China and Belarus took place in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, on June 1, with nearly 30,000 attendees.

This grand event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the Chinese Embassy in Belarus, and the Minsk Municipal Government.

It featured a rich tapestry of cultural performances, intangible cultural heritage displays, creative art exhibitions, culinary delights, and promotional activities.

At the venue, the Ulan Muqir art troupe from the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region performed a special show titled "Charming Intangible Heritage – 'Music and Dance' from Ordos," showcasing a selection of cultural performances from the region.

The performances, brimming with the traditional charm of Ordos' songs and dances, captivated the audience and elicited enthusiastic applause.

Meanwhile, attendees had the opportunity to experience and explore the art of making Ordos milk tea, traditional folk textiles, Ordos clothing, cashmere products, silver craftsmanship, leather carvings, and leisurely delicacies, among other intangible cultural heritage items.

Li Yun, director of the Ordos culture and tourism bureau, delivered multiple speeches at the event.

Li introduced the cultural and tourism development of Ordos and expressed hope that the activity will enhance mutual understanding, deepen friendship, and promote culture and tourism cooperation and exchanges between the two sides.
