In December 2024, the first polyethylene glycol dimethyl ether (NHD) production line in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region successfully delivered its initial batch of high-quality products in the Juungar Economic Development Zone in Ordos. The facility is now operating at full capacity.
The project, jointly developed by Inner Mongolia Yidong Dongyan Technology Co and Inner Mongolia University, was completed in over a year.
With a total investment of 6 million yuan ($828,043.06), the production line has an annual capacity of 1,000 metric tons and is expected to generate over 20 million yuan in output value.
It was designated as the sole major technological project for 2023 by the industry, information and technology bureau of Juungar Banner, securing a subsidy of 3 million yuan.
The project will help address the region's reliance on imported desulfurization and decarbonization solutions essential for the coal chemical industry, helping to strengthen the local supply chain.
