Ordos achieves growth in 'green' foreign trade

Updated: 2025-03-04 (chinadaily.com.cn) Print

In 2024, Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region saw impressive performance in green foreign trade, with exports of new energy vehicles, lithium batteries and solar cell products reaching 3.83 billion yuan ($526.10 million), a 67.3-percent increase.

These exports accounted for 91.6 percent of Inner Mongolia's total exports of this kind.

To boost the export of new energy products, Ordos Customs optimized the "bonded + warehousing" model, ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the comprehensive bonded zone.

In 2024, the bonded warehousing value of Ordos' new energy products reached 3.69 billion yuan, with approximately 240 million yuan in export tax rebates processed under the “immediate refund upon entry” policy.

To further facilitate the export of new energy products, Ordos Customs strengthened policy briefings for enterprises exporting new energy vehicles, lithium batteries and solar cells, closely monitored regulatory changes such as the EU's new battery regulations and adjustments to the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and assisted enterprises in handling technical trade measures.

Additionally, customs authorities guided new energy vehicle exporters in adopting the "pre-declaration" clearance model and provided 24/7 customs clearance services, including holidays and weekends, to support exports.
