In recent years, Ordos has emerged as a key destination for leading enterprises, drawing industry giants to establish their presence in the city.

At the world's first net-zero industrial park in the Mengsu Economic Development Zone, construction projects are progressing rapidly, while completed facilities are running at full capacity to meet production demands.

The park has attracted over 10 top-tier new energy companies. Industry chains, led by major players, are taking shape: Envision in battery and energy storage, LONGi Green Energy in photovoltaics, Meijin Guohong and Yingbo Shengyuan in hydrogen fuel cells and green hydrogen equipment manufacturing, and Hongyan and Jieqing Technology in new energy vehicle manufacturing.

These sectors are forming a dynamic industrial system centered around wind, solar, hydrogen, energy storage, and electric vehicles.

While expanding the existing "industrial circle" of the net-zero industrial park, Ordos is also laying the groundwork for emerging industries.

"In the future, solar thermal power stations will be a key trend in the new energy sector, addressing the challenges of photovoltaic power fluctuations and peak regulation," said Zeng Yong, deputy general manager of the Enterprise Management Center at Baichuan Solar Thermal Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Co, a global leader in solar thermal concentrator mirror technology.

"Ordos has abundant solar energy resources and a well-established photovoltaic industry chain in its net-zero industrial park. This presents a perfect opportunity for solar thermal energy to complement photovoltaics, unlocking immense potential," Zeng added.

Recognized as one of China's seven major onshore new energy bases, Ordos holds promising prospects, fueling optimism among industry leaders regarding the region's development and their own business success, Zeng said.
