A total of two banners of Ordos made the list of the 2024 ranking of China's 62 counties with GDPs each exceeding 100 billion yuan ($13.70 billion).

The list is released by CCID Consulting Co, a subsidiary of the China Center for Information Industry Development under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Juungar Banner ranked 23rd nationwide with a GDP of 160.04 billion yuan, while Ejin Horoo Banner secured the 40th spot with a GDP of 131.04 billion yuan.

According to the report, China is now home to 62 "billion-yuan counties", which together account for just 1.3 percent of the country's total land area but contribute an impressive 7.8 percent of its GDP – highlighting their significant role in driving economic growth.
