Ordos sees 20.1% surge in fixed-asset investment in Q1

In the first quarter of this year, Ordos city reported a 20.1 percent year-on-year increase in fixed-asset investment, marking steady progress in the city's investment activity.
By sector, investment in the primary industry soared 144 percent, contributing 4 percent to the total investment; the secondary industry grew 12.3 percent, accounting for 77.7 percent of total investment; and the tertiary industry saw a robust increase of 47.1 percent, making up 18.2 percent of total investment.
The city counted 234 construction projects, each worth over 100 million yuan ($13.70 million), 75 more than in the same period last year. Investment in these projects increased by 15.8 percent year-over-year, accounting for 13.8 percentage points of overall investment growth. Projects exceeding 1 billion yuan grew 10.4 percent in value, accounting for 68.5 percent of total investment.
Infrastructure investment stood out with a 39.1 percent year-on-year increase, making up 42.4 percent of total investment.
A highlight was the sharp rise in newly launched projects. The city initiated 26 new projects, 19 more than it did during the same period last year. These new projects reported a 35-fold increase in planned investment and a 402.7 percent jump in actual investment, accounting for 11.4 percent of total investment.
