Fifty university students from China and South Korea gathered in Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, from May 11 to 14 for a tree-planting initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness and international friendship.

The event, organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation in collaboration with SK Group, brought together students at the Engebei Ecological Demonstration Zone. Side by side, they worked together to voluntarily plant trees, demonstrating a shared commitment to sustainable development.

On-site technicians provided detailed explanations of local desert ecology and sand-fixation techniques, helping students understand the environmental challenges of the region. Divided into teams, the Chinese and Korean students dug holes, planted saplings, and watered them, greening the arid landscape.

In addition to planting, students visited the Dalad Banner Photovoltaic Power Generation Base, a leading site for renewable energy development, where they gained insight into China's clean energy advancements and sustainable industry practices.
