Ordos recorded 5.69 billion yuan ($793.58 million) in foreign trade in the first half of this year, marking a 5.6 percent year-on-year increase.

To promote foreign trade, the city implemented a series of policy measures under the Ordos Foreign Trade Development Support Guidelines. These include targeted actions, including supporting foreign trade enterprises, expanding international markets, enhancing service trade, incubating cross-border e-commerce, improving transportation capacity, upgrading service quality, innovating financial products, and strengthening international certification.

Ordos also implemented a comprehensive work plan aimed at enhancing its foreign trade performance. Efforts have concentrated on boosting the international competitiveness of key sectors such as equipment manufacturing, new energy, fine chemicals, and cashmere products.

So far, the city has supported 13 leading foreign trade enterprises and cultivated 55 small and medium-sized enterprises, generating 2.85 billion yuan in import and export value, accounting for 50 percent of the city’s total.

Ordos plans to further align with green trade standards, streamline import-export procedures, and optimize the business environment. These efforts aim to build a more cost-effective, efficient, and high-functioning platform for opening up, contributing to high-quality foreign trade growth.
