Talagou Goat Meat from Ordos' Hanggin Banner recently passed the review of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, officially earning the status of a national geographical indication (GI) product. This recognition marks a major milestone, affirming the product's superior quality and brand value at the national level.
The certification is expected to greatly enhance the market recognition and competitiveness of Talagou Goat Meat, helping Hanggin Banner's signature local product grow into a nationally renowned brand.
The exceptional quality of Talagou Goat Meat comes from Hanggin Banner's unique natural environment. The protected production area covers 76 villages across seven towns, including Xini and Duguitala, located in the heart of the Ordos Plateau. The region's vast grasslands and winding rivers nurture over 100 species of native forage plants and more than 20 types of medicinal herbs.
Goats raised here can graze freely on these diverse grasses and drink from natural springs, producing meat that is tender, firm, and free of gamy odor. The meat is also rich in protein but low in fat and cholesterol.
