The Mengsu Economic Development Zone in Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been selected as one of the country's model cases for advancing new-type industrialization, according to a recent list released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

As a key platform for energy transformation and industrial upgrading in the region, the zone has utilized its rich energy resources and solid industrial foundation to explore a distinctive development path guided by China's "dual-carbon" goals. It has become a benchmark for how industrial parks can drive high-quality growth through new-type industrialization.

The zone is accelerating efforts to build a zero-carbon industrial park, develop a full "wind–solar–hydrogen–storage–vehicle" industry cluster, and advance a clean coal-to-fuel demonstration base. It is also strengthening its modern logistics system and enhancing service capacity to establish a new high-quality industrial hub.

The zone serves as a model for upgrading industrial parks across Inner Mongolia.

In recent years, the Inner Mongolia Department of Industry and Information Technology has implemented national strategies on new-type industrialization, rolled out supportive policies, improved park management mechanisms, upgraded infrastructure, facilitated industrial transfer, and significantly enhanced the quality and efficiency of industrial park development.
