Ordos Ejin Horoo International Airport is rapidly expanding its all-cargo route network this year, providing strong momentum for Ordos' opening-up. Since launching its first scheduled direct cargo service to Bangkok on Nov 9, the airport has achieved breakthroughs in both route expansion and network reach, gradually building a freight corridor linking Southeast Asia with the broader Asia-Pacific region.
The route has already operated 10 flights, handling approximately 151.9 metric tons of cargo with a total trade value of about $1.2 million, of which $70,000 is imports.
To enhance the efficiency of its designated customs supervision facilities, the airport has established a dedicated team and built a direct procurement and distribution platform for international and domestic products.
This platform enables the import of fruits, edible aquatic animals, and chilled seafood, introducing specialty goods from across China to Ordos and nearby cities.
The airport is expanding channels to supermarkets, distributors, and wholesale markets in Ordos, Baotou, and Hohhot, with select products now available across Ordos' districts and surrounding areas.
The airport will continue to expand its cargo route network, strengthen its direct-purchase platform, and utilize the advantages of point-to-point logistics and origin-based supply to bring more unique products to the region.
