Zhang Lei, general manager of Erdos Resources Co, delivered a keynote speech at the 2025 "Understanding Inner Mongolia" Annual Conference in Hohhot on Nov 29, outlining how the group is advancing sustainable cashmere development through technological innovation and industrial collaboration.

In the core production area of Albas cashmere goats in Otog Banner, the group has established a "source pasture" to carry out basic research, demonstration breeding, standard promotion, and cashmere collection.

Over the course of five years, scientific research has significantly improved fiber quality, reducing average cashmere fineness by 0.6 microns. Standardized breeding, upgraded facilities, and a premium pricing mechanism have raised herders' earnings. Some households now earn up to 225,000 yuan ($31,690) annually from ultra-fine cashmere subsidies alone, driving strong enthusiasm for high-quality breeding.

The factory, regarded as the company's "second workshop", is undergoing a transformation toward greener and smarter operations. Production has shifted from one worker per manual machine to one operator overseeing 16 automated units; from labor-intensive processes to 5G-enabled intelligent manufacturing lines.

Erdos group now mass-produces seamless knitwear and complex fashion pieces, while energy-saving technologies, biotechnology applications, and smart warehousing are accelerating the shift from "Made in China" to "Intelligently Made in China".

Additionally, the marketing process brings together brick-and-mortar stores, online platforms, and brand livestream studios to transform service-oriented production into high-quality, diversified consumer experiences.

Consumers can trace the origins of raw materials via QR codes; flexible quick-response mechanisms support urgent orders; nano water-repellent technology enhances product performance; and repair and upcycling services extend garment life. Beyond delivering technology and style, Erdos group is promoting a modern, green, and sustainable lifestyle.
