A total of 20 companies from Ordos city made the list of China's Top 500 Energy Enterprises, released on Dec 4 at the 8th Energy Industry Annual Conference.

The Huineng Coal and Power Group ranked 68th. Other Ordos-based companies, such as Yitai Group, Mengtai Group, and Yidong Group, were also included on the list.

Jointly compiled by China Energy News and the China Institute of Energy Economics, the list is based primarily on enterprises' 2024 operating revenue.

The combined revenue of the Top 500 companies reached 33.43 trillion yuan ($4.78 trillion), a slight year-on-year increase of 0.04 percent.

Regionally, Jiangsu province continued to lead with 55 enterprises on the list, maintaining its top position for a second year. Shandong province ranked second with 48 companies, followed by Zhejiang province at 45 and Guangdong province at 43.
