The 2026 Ordos Lantern Festival Gala is set to illuminate the city on March 2, inviting both residents and visitors to celebrate the festival that falls on the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese calendar in grand style.

Titled "Lantern Lights Warm the City · Joyful Lantern Festival", the event will blend traditional Chinese culture, grassland heritage, and modern creativity to celebrate the Year of the Horse.

It will be organized around four themed chapters, highlighting reunion, warmth, and shared aspirations. A series of immersive performances will showcase Ordos' cultural roots and contemporary vitality through music, dance, and visual storytelling.

Popular singer Hailaiamu will bring heartfelt melodies to the stage, while renowned pipa virtuoso Fang Jinlong will present a fusion of traditional Chinese music and grassland rhythms. Several accomplished vocalists will also join the lineup, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The gala promises an immersive audiovisual experience with dynamic stage design, synchronized lighting, and real-time augmented reality technology.
