The "Warm City Together with the World" 2026 Ordos International Cultural Tour was held from Sept 2 to 5, inviting guests from 14 countries to explore the city's ecological progress, industrial development, technological innovation, and cultural heritage.

The four-day tour brought together international cultural counselors from embassies in China, along with ambassadors, bloggers, and international students, who visited ecological restoration sites, industrial parks, research institutions, and cultural venues to experience Ordos' high-quality development firsthand.

At Yin Yuzhen's family forest farm, visitors were impressed by the decades of afforestation that have transformed once-barren desert into a vast green oasis. "It is hard to imagine that so many trees could be planted in a place that once had no vegetation," said Chen Shuqi, an international student at Tsinghua University. "The experience here is truly inspiring and worth learning from."

At a cashmere company, visitors saw digital production lines in operation and a wide range of garments and cultural products, highlighting the strength of Ordos' signature industry. Indian English expert Madhusudan Chaubey praised the products for their quality and variety.

The delegation also visited the airport logistics park and a new energy research institute, learning about hydrogen technology, industry-academia collaboration, and the green transformation of traditional energy industries. At the Ordos Museum, they explored the connections between grassland and Nile civilizations, while a visit to a technology company offered a firsthand look at autonomous driving.

In the evening, the Ulan Mulun Lake musical fountain in Kangbashi district lit up the city with spectacular performances, including cultural shows and intelligent robot displays. "The evening performances beautifully showcased Ordos' urban character and unique charm," said Pan Yuansha, an expert and journalist with the Center for the Americas at China International Communications Group.
