Since its establishment in 2019, the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone has taken institutional innovation as its core to boost the opening-up and high-quality development of the region, said local officials.

Established on Aug 30, 2019, the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area covers 52 square kilometers and is located in the Qingdao West Coast New Area – the only State-level new area in Shandong province.

The China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area adheres to the enterprise-oriented and service-prioritized concept in its development, and has formed a "three-in-one" service mechanism with distinctive regional characteristics that integrates its administrative committee, functional departments and enterprise service companies.
