The last batch of 40 sets of diesel railcar units manufactured by China's rolling-stock maker CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co were delivered to Sri Lanka on March 3 through Qingdao Port.

In addition, two train-sets of driverless metro vehicles also built by CRRC Qingdao Sifang were shipped to Singapore that same day.

CRRC Qingdao Sifang has resumed operations despite the ongoing outbreak. It has given top priority to overseas projects and has made every effort to mitigate the impact of the epidemic in a bid to ensure the timely delivery of export projects.

The company signed an order for nine diesel trains with Sri Lanka in 2017. The new type of diesel train, equipped with 90 train cars, is supposed to be delivered by April 30 this year, according to the contract.

In order to ensure the timely delivery of the last batch of vehicles, CRRC Qingdao Sifang has made a detailed plan regarding material procurement, transportation, warehousing, delivery, and more.

In 2014, CRRC Qingdao Sifang won driverless metro car contracts for 91 four-car driverless train-sets (364 vehicles) from Singapore. This is China's first driverless metro vehicle project for an overseas market, and 33 of the train-sets have already been completed and delivered.
