Yeeper Bekari (Qingdao) Sheep Milk Products Co, the largest single sheep milk powder processing plant in China, was put into operation in Laixi, a county-level city in Qingdao, Shandong province on June 6.

The opening ceremony marked the 66th anniversary of the establishment of Yeeper, which boasts one of the earliest milk powder enterprises that has been established in China, and regarded as one of the world's leading dairy product manufacturers.

Yeeper's Laixi factory has introduced the international leading dry and wet mixed milk powder production process, and it will mainly engage in production of infant formula milk powder, adult and children customized milk powder, whey powder, butter and other dairy products. The factory will achieve an annual output of 50,000 metric tons of sheep milk powder, according to Yeeper.

The operation of the factory will play a leading role in the dairy sheep breeding in Qingdao and even in the Jiaodong Peninsula, which will contribute to the development of the whole industry and rural vitalization, said Mou Shanbo, chairman of Yeeper Dairy Group.

In his speech, Zhou Ke, Party secretary of Laixi, stressed that Laixi will continue to uphold a business-friendly philosophy, strive to create the best business environment, as well as provide support, optimal policies and best services for the development of the Yeeper's factory and other investment projects. 

Laixi will also step up its efforts to help build the Shandong model pilot zone for rural vitalization in Qingdao, according to Zhou.

To promote regional high-quality growth, Laixi has been nurturing six critical emerging industries in recent years: new energy vehicles, general aviation, graphite new materials, green building, biomedicine, new generation of information technology, and high-end food and beverage industry.
