The alliance is committed to building a multi-level platform for the integration and collaborative development of marine related industries in Shandong, according to local officials.

The oceans are strategically important to high-quality development, said a senior official of Qingdao, adding that the local government will accelerate the construction of world-class sea ports, a well-established modern maritime industry system, as well as a green and sustainable marine ecological environment.

At present, Shandong is striving to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional marine industries, as well as advance breakthrough developments in emerging marine industries. Efforts have been made to further marine scientific and technological innovation, as well as to accelerate the cultivation and growth of sea-related market entities.
