Qingdao will form a modern agricultural industry system by 2026, according to new measures recently released by the municipal government.

The new measures aim to help agricultural industrialization enterprises optimize their industrial layout, accelerate the development of agricultural industrialization and the upgrading of the entire rural industry chain, enhance the vitality of the city's agricultural and rural economic and social development, and promote the construction of a strong agricultural city, government officials said during a news conference on Dec 22.

According to the new measures, the coastal city in China's eastern Shandong province will help enterprises in the main agricultural products fields as well as modern seed industry, smart agriculture and other key areas to expand their scale and enhance market competitiveness. They will also help agricultural industrialization enterprises go public.
