Implementing "culture benefiting the masses" project

Nearly 5,000 cultural activities were carried out during the First Shandong Cultural Consumption Season, attracting the participation of 133 million people, bringing in a total consumption of 20.67 billion yuan ($3.13 billion) and cultural products and services sales of 420 million yuan.

Unveiled on July 20, 2017 and lasting for 100 days, the event included six sections of activities that had been carried out both online and offline in the province's 17 cities to enrich residents' lives and motivate development of the regional cultural industry.

In addition to a series of special offers and promotions on cultural and arts activities such as the reading festival, the small theater show and movie ticket discounts, numerous large-scale events were also held in the different cities of the province, including the Eighth World Confucian Conference held in Qufu, the 31st International Mount Tai Climbing Festival held in Tai'an and the 12th Calligrapher Sage Cultural Festival held in Linyi.
