The 2022 Mount Tai International Marathon kicked off online on Dec 18, and will last through Dec 25.

The online marathon event consists of three race formats - 5 km, 21.1 km, and 42.2 km - in unlimited running venues. Participants can choose to run in parks, playgrounds, streets, and treadmills, as long as they use the running app Codoon to record their runs.

To date, a total of 172,454 people have registered for the competition. According to the rules of the competition, people can register until Dec 25.

The marathon's medals have always been a favorite among runners. This year's medal was designed by the marathon organizing committee and Codoon app.

The medal is shaped like a peach buckle, a traditional type of Chinese jewelry, and is carved with three-dimensional carving technology, including a mountain, pine and cypress trees, clouds and other majestic elements of Mount Tai.

The Mount Tai International Marathon has been held eight times, and is a brand sports event in Tai'an.
