After over 20 days in transit, the first batch of converter transformers for the Longdong-Shandong ±800 kV Dongping ultra-high voltage (UHV) converter station, a key project in the national energy strategy for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, arrived at the station on July 11.

This was achieved through a combination of river, sea, and land transportation.

So far this year, Tai'an Port has shipped 28 large-scale items, totaling 4,100 metric tons and marking a whopping 157.58 percent year-on-year increase, providing strong support for the construction of the station, which is designated as a national key project.

The converter transformers each measure 10.3 meters in length, 4.7 meters in width, 5 meters in height, while weighing nearly 300 tons.

On June 20, the first two transformers departed from Chongqing, were transferred to a port cargo ship, and traveled via the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal to the Laohu operation area of Dongping Port in Tai'an Port.

The entire journey combined river, sea, and land transportation, covering over 2,600 kilometers in just over 20 days.

In recent years, Tai'an has been focused on large-item transportation, implementing six measures to optimize transportation permits and advance modern logistics, establishing a comprehensive service mechanism to enhance logistics quality and efficiency.
