Taishan district in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province held the Yellow River Bazaar on Jan 7 ahead of Spring Festival, aiming to promote commercial, cultural and tourism products along the Yellow River and spread traditional culture.

The opening ceremony commenced amidst the beats of drums, with programs like Henan Opera and fast-paced storytelling captivating the audience. The locals could enjoy a visual and auditory feast right at their doorstep, immersed in a thick festive ambiance.

The event featured intangible cultural heritage fairs, local flavor fairs, and calligraphy and painting exhibitions, which offered over 20 categories of intangible cultural heritage to experience.

The Yellow River Bazaar serves as a vital platform for promoting and preserving Chinese cultural traditions, and fostering community engagement, embodying a commitment to enriching lives and celebrating heritage.

More than 40 varieties of specialty foods and agricultural products were available to sample and purchase, while over 30 calligraphers and painters were there, writing New Year couplets for the villagers, making the upcoming Chinese New Year a joyous and lively celebration.

In recent years, Taishan district has prioritized cultural development and positioned the Yellow River Bazaar as a key driver for rural cultural revitalization. By continuously innovating event formats and introducing themed activities like Chinese farmers' harvest festival, the district has been well-received and had positive results in attracting crowds, boosting consumption, and increasing income for residents.

Leveraging the platform of the Yellow River Bazaar, Taishan district will continue to promote and inherit excellent traditional Chinese culture and Yellow River culture, as well as promote unique local products.
