Tai'an sets ambitious goals for new year
Tai'an, a city in Shandong, set its regional GDP growth target at 5.5 percent or above, aiming to make a greater contribution to the province's economy, according to its recently released government work report.
This year, Tai'an will vigorously promote the development of the new type of industrialization, laying a solid foundation for the real economy. The city will transform and upgrade traditional industries, nurture and expand emerging industries and future industries. Efforts will also be made to advance project planning and construction, accelerate the transformation of digitalization and intelligence, and strengthen technological innovation.
Tai'an will also vigorously develop its modern service industry to promote upgrades and efficiency improvements. The city will focus on developing the silver economy and ice and snow economy, as well as on developing a number of cultural and tourism consumption clusters and characteristic districts.
The city will also expedite the construction of the Yellow River Basin's ecological protection and high-quality development leading area and set up a green manufacturing system. It will also accelerate the greening and recycling transformation of industrial parks and cultivate green and low-carbon demonstration zones.
To promote the deep integration of culture and tourism, Tai'an will enhance its cultural and tourism brand. The city will expedite the construction of projects such as the Mount Tai-Yellow River-Dawan River cultural tourism ecological corridor. Additionally, it will support Tianping Lake in creating a national-level tourism resort area and Dongping Lake in establishing a 5A-level tourist attraction.
Efforts will also be made to advance rural vitalization across the city. Tai'an will promote the comprehensive vitalization of rural areas, composing a model chapter for Tai'an in Shandong. The city will strengthen its top characteristic industries such as Mount Tai tea, high-end animal husbandry, efficient vegetables, and ecological fisheries. Efforts will also be made to enhance the hierarchical cultivation of agricultural enterprises, with the revenue of large-scale food enterprises expected to surpass 40 billion yuan ($5.52 billion).
